The fun part about roulette is your options of bets affect the size of your payout! Here are your options and how much they pay:

I wonder, can I bet on more than one option in the same round?
Yes! You can even bet on options that overlap numbers!
basketball player icon avatar
volleyball player icon avatar
You can also bet on opposite bets, like the 1st and 2nd half, but this just means you’re breaking even.

Blackjack

A game of blackjack begins with one card dealt alternatingly between your hand and the dealer. If there’s more than one player on the table, then they also get one each. This continues until there are two cards in each hand. Most of them are facing upwards, but the dealer only has one revealed card while the other faces down.

Most live table games only have two hands: the player and the dealer.
This means everyone shares the same hand against the dealer!
basketball player icon avatar
There are four actions you can take at the start of a blackjack round:
  • Hit: Draw 1 card to add value to your hand.
  • Stand: Settle with your current hand and pass the turn to the dealer.
  • Double down: Simultaneously hit and stand in 1 turn while doubling your ante.
  • Split: If your starting hand is a pair, then split them into two separate hands. The dealer adds one card for each side, and now you have two starting hands.

After hitting on the first turn, you lose the ability to double down or split. Your options now are between hitting and standing, but you end your turn after standing once. After a stand, the dealer reveals their face-down card and then begins to hit continuously.

baseball player icon avatar
The value of each hand is equal to the sum of their numbered cards. That means a hand with a 2 and 8 card is equal to 10!
What about cards that don’t have numbers like Jack, Queen, King, and Ace?
basketball player icon avatar
volleyball player icon avatar
Those cards are each equal to 10 while Ace is equal to 11.

There is a limit to how many you can draw. Reaching more than 21 ends in a bust, so you need to stand before you hit too far. The dealer doesn’t have options. It will continue to hit until it reaches 17 or more.
Ace has a special rule about busting. If it’s still 11, then it’s called a soft hand and busting only turns it into a 1-value card.
baseball player icon avatar
basketball player icon avatar
That means I can risk hitting if my hand is only equal to 16, and I want more!

Blackjack payout is as follows:

Winning the round

1:1

Getting a natural 21

3:2 or 2:1

baseball player icon avatar
A natural 21 means your starting hand is equal to 21. It consists of Ace plus any 10-valued cards like 10, Jack, Queen, or King.
Examples of this game available at Stake:

Baccarat

The most popular game at Stake is baccarat because it’s so easy to learn and every round is quick. It follows the same card-counting mechanic as blackjack, where every card is equal to their hand. However, your goal is to bet on which of two hands is winning the round or if it will end in a tie.

Some baccarat games have side bets, but the selection is unique to the table.
I played one where I can bet if a pair will appear on either hand.

For me, it’s about guessing if one side will get big or small numbers.

The three main bets and their payouts are as follows:

Name of the bet

Payout

Odds

Description

Banker wins

0.95:1

45.86%

The banker has a higher hand than the player

Player wins

1:1

44.62%

The player has a higher hand than the banker

It’s a tie

8:1

9.52%

Both sides have equal hand values

By the way, totals in baccarat can’t go over 9.
There is no bust, but if the hand reaches 10 or higher, then 10 points are deducted.
basketball player icon avatar
volleyball player icon avatar
This means a banker with 12 only has 2, therefore losing to the player if it has 3 or more.

A round of baccarat begins with one card dealt alternatingly between the player and the banker until there are 2 on both sides. However, there is a special occasion in which a third card is drawn for either side. Here is the condition for that to happen:

  • The player draws if the sum of its starting hand is anywhere between 0 to 5
  • The banker draws based on its own hand as well as what the player drew as a third card
    • Banker draws if the following rules are met:

The banker’s hand is:

The player drew:

3

any except 8

4

2-7

5

4-7

6

6 or 7

Neither side can draw a card if either one of them gets 8 or 9 as a starting hand
Examples of this game are available at Stake:

Poker

Poker comes in wide varieties, but they all follow the same rules. The goal remains consistent: to have the best hand at the table. The only distinction lies in the distribution of cards to the players. Some will straight-up give you three or five cards, while others will give you two cards in the hole, and you combine it with the community board.

What happens if two or more hands have the same winning hand?
Usually, they compare. If it’s a pair, then whoever has the highest-valued pair wins.
basketball player icon avatar
volleyball player icon avatar
Cards are ranked from lowest to highest, from 2 to Ace. Thus, a pair of Jack wins vs a pair of 10.
The same applies to the high card, but only the highest-valued single card is used.

Most poker games at Stake pay 1:1, but the wager can be different for every version. You can bet on some of them upfront before the cards are dealt, which becomes the ante. However, some games also ask whether you’d like to play the cards you’re given.

If you decide to play, you pay another bet equal to the ante and winning pays both back 1:1. Deciding not to play means you are spared from spending another bet and skipping the current round for the next one.
